Thanks to my friend Chris Romero, Chelsea’s New Beginning has made it into six more elementary school libraries!  If your child goes to Raymore, Eagle Glen, Creekmoor, Stonegate, Peculiar, and Ridgeview Elementary Schools in Cass County, Missouri, and they are searching for something to read, tell them that Chelsea’s New Beginning is now available to check out in their library.  Thank you for your continuing support!

Wayside Waifs, an animal adoption center located in Kansas City, MO, has agreed to sell hardcover copies of Chelsea’s New Beginning at their shelter.

As of now, the special events manager has informed that Wayside is operating on an appointment only basis until further notice due to COVID-19.  They do not know when they will reopen to the public.  But when they do, and you decide to adopt a pet from their facility, there will be copies of Chelsea’s New Beginning, a book that features a shelter puppy ready for adoption, available for purchase.

And remember, you don’t have to wait for them to open to get your own copy.  No matter what the circumstances, you can order your own copy from this website – just click the Buy the Book tab!

So according to my friend who helped me get a copy of Chelsea’s New Beginning into the SNKC Gala’s silent auction, the book sold for $20. This is great news! This means someone was interested and that having the book as one of their items really helped to bring more awareness to the overall series.

I will definitely be entering more Chelsea stories into this event next year. Stay tuned!

On Wednesday, February 26th, I made a stop at my old elementary school, Santa Fe Trail in Overland Park, KS.  I had gone to multiple grade schools and it was by far my favorite one.  Part of my memories of going there was being inspired and encouraged to pursue writing.

And now I have another reason to consider it my best grade school.  I went into the library to inquire about donating a copy of Chelsea’s New Beginning.  Unlike public libraries, where you have take multiple steps to get your book considered, all you have to do is hand the school librarian a copy and they will accept it and put it in their system.  Piece of cake!

I am so thankful for my old school’s support, and in the near future I will be ordering more copies and going around to more schools in the Shawnee Mission School District.  Stay tuned!

If you are going to the SNKC Gala in the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO on Saturday, February 29th 2020, Chelsea’s New Beginning will be featured in a silent auction.  One of my very good friends was able to help me enter a copy of the book in the last minute, so unfortunately tickets are sold out.  But Chelsea’s story is becoming more well-known!

The gala will be hosted by Spay & Neuter Kansas City and is sponsored by Companion Protect Pet Insurance.
